    Default DAYS OF AUSTRALIA IN NEW BELGRADE (16-20 June 2012)

    - lots and lots on ... and it is Australia so it is very, very cool!!! (not that I am biased)

    Saturday 16 June :

    • 10.00 -16.30 - Painting workshop for children
    (group 1 and 2: 3-8 years old children, group 3 and 4: 9-14 years old children)
    Educational workshop where children paint their picture of Australia after presentation of Australian symbols trough pictures, reading of fairy tales, listening of Australian music.
    - Taking photos of parents with children in front of billboard of Australia (photo panel)

    • 17.45-18.45
    - Promotion of a book “My Australia” written by Mr. Stanimir Kole Atanackovic
    Prof. Dobrivoje Mladenovic presents the book and the work of the writer.

    • 19.00-19:30
    - Inauguration of the Days of Australia in New Belgrade
    - Opening speech by H.E. Dr Helena Studdert Ambassador of Australia to Belgrade
    - Opening speech by high representative of the Municipality of New Belgrade
    - Opening speech by Director of New Belgrade cultural network
    - Exhibition “Encounter with Australia”, author Mr. Chaslav Petrovic
    - Cocktail

    • 19.30 – 20.30
    - Concert dedicated to Paul Kelly, by Goran Skrobonja, Srdjan Andrejevic, Teodora Skrobonja: Songs include - FORTY MILES TO SUTERDAY NIGHT, FROM ST.KILDA TO KING’S CROSS, ADELAIDE, SYDNEY FROM 727, LOVE NEVER RUNS ON TIME, FROM LITTLE THINGS BIG THINGS GROW (5min)

    • 21.00 – 23.00
    Calcutta band – Australian pop and rock music

    Sunday 17 June 2012:

    • 17.00 – 19.00
    - Australian rugby league demonstration on Sava River bank at Blok 45 by Red Star rugby league and participation of students from high schools.

    • 17.00 – 19.00
    - Exhibition “Australia by Serbian teens” (collection of the best paintings made at painting workshop for children)

    • 20.00 – 21.30
    - “Bran Nue Dai”, projection of aboriginal movie

    Wednesday 20 June 2012:

    • 17.00 – 19.00
    - Exhibition of Children’s drawings done at the event of “Australian at the Zoo" on 19th of May

    Sometimes there's nothing wrong with being biased - greetings from the Sunshine State.

    Although this schedule looks rather bland and boring to me - speech after speech, and no barbie.

    Hi Jovan - you are absolutely right! A barbie would have done the trick, and with the weather we are having (currently 32 degrees and a big, blue open sky) I think we'll have to suggest that it is included next year.
