    Default Buying and old car

    Hey guys,

I usually spend a couple months in Serbia over the summer, and this year I've decided I want to have a car to get around. I'd do the whole rent a car thing, but even the cheapest cars will costs close to $2000.
I am wondering what the process would be like to buy an old car (under 500 euro) in Serbia.
I am a serbian citizen, and can get an international license no problem. A couple things I know i'll have to check is if my current local insurance will cover me while im in Serbia. Again, I'd only be driving for max 2 months over the summer and if anyone has done this before or knows the process it would be really helpful.
Assuming I find a car through an online classified, and it looks to be ok, what do I do, register it first? Which documents do I need? Insurance?

    Thanks!

The only cars you will find under 500 euros in Serbia will be from the 1980s and earlier. There is no such thing as a "cheap, decent" used car in Serbia. If you want anything half decent expect to drop at least 2000 euros.

Well perhaps your interpretation of decent differs from mine I really just need a car to get me from point A to point B, doesn't have to have leather seats, AC, power windows etc... my only demand would be that it doesn't fall apart on me or break down if I pass 80 KM/h. Do you think for under 500 euros that's possible to find?

You will definately find a yugo for that money, it won't be all singing and dancing but should anything need repairs all the parts are easily available and very cheap.

In this case, does anyone know of a rent a car for those under 21?
