View Full Version : 6 Nations/Heineken Cup Rugby (with sound!)

Hi,

I have spoken to Jonathan about this before and well, there seems to be a dearth, or closer to the point, complete lack of places to watch 6 nations rugby or the good old Heinko Cup. The skip that is the 'Sports Cafe' shows it via some Italian tv station although the volume (due to the satellite package/set-up that they have (or haven't)) is not available. So instead of hearing Rugby commentary, 90's euro pop/techno such as 2Unlimited, SNAP, VengaBoys and Ace of Base are now the sountrack to my rugby life. William Webb Ellis surely never meant for this to happen now did he?

Does ANYONE know where it is available with sound???

Thanks

Patrick

Paddy, as you will see from the thread below: "Decent Pubs/bars with TV and sat disk?" started by Jonathan and the thread it links to many have asked the same question but no answers have been found.

Hi Patrick.....I am a bit desperate too....I went to the Sports Cafe for the first time earlier to day to try and catch some of the Scarlets v London Irish H.Cup game...but they said thay cannot do and even if they did you had to listen to club music with no Rugby audio.

Worried about missing the Six Nations for the first time in my life probably....it doesn't look good

Someone,somewhere must know something???

ps .I did manage to listen to BBC Wales radio on the internet where they had full audio commentary of the Scarlets v L Irish match, next best thing in the absence of anything else.

The sports cafe is not a good option for sure and has been mentioned before. If you are not too bothered about atmosphere the meridian betting shop just off Makadonska near republic square will usually put games on if you ask. I also might be able to help you out.. send me a PM if you're not too much of a one-eyed Welsh fan. I also plan to run a 6N "sweep" to raise some money for youth rugby here, I'd apreciate it Jonathan if maybe you could send it when it's done to all those here interested in supporting rugby.

Good win for the Scarlets but screws LI a bit in their hopes to progress. Only Irish team to lose this weekend!

Rugbycoach I will, of course, put that in the newsletter for you.

Really sorry about yesterday. In a fit of silliness I decided to update my phone firmware and wiped your number with it. Please could you PM it to me again?

Hi Rugbycoach, aplogies for the belated response to your message. I am still trying to figure out how to reply to messages originating from this site! Went to the SC to see the Treviso Munster and the Ospreys CMA games.

Yes, the sports cafe is just not where I can watch the 6 Nations. I wonder if any other bars have access to the italian sky stations that broadcast the rugby?

A few of us are watching the Northampton Munster clash in the (squirm) Sports Cafe friday night if you are interested.

Ciao

Paddy

If you "click" my name in the left corner of the message you then have the option of sending a message to me. If you can then send me your email address via this method we can then discuss the rugby watching options.

cheers
