We hope you all had an excellent Easter and are ready for the May quiz night.
Quizmaster for the evening, Nick Norvell, will be picking up the question cards and asking us all sorts of random and interesting stuff.

Please note: we ran out of space last month, so apologies in advance, but can only guarantee a table for teams that have booked by RSVP-ing to us.

DATE: Friday, 10 May
TIME: 7.30pm to register, 8pm start. (Please try and be on time!)
WHERE: Smokvica Cafe and Bar, Airport City (Omladinskih Brigada 88), New Belgrade

* Teams maximum of 6 people please
* Register as a team... or as an individual (and we will help you put you in a team)
* For everyone who wants to help support us and cover our costs, a voluntary 100 dinar contribution per person can be made on the night.
* Gentle reminder: The quiz is for fun and we would appreciate people not using their mobile phones to find answers!! Let us all get into the spirit of fairness.

* Airport City is at Omladinskih Brigada 88, New Belgrade. (For entry to the carpark drive into Đorđa Stanojevića. Rodic/Roda is on the left, Airport City carpark is on the right)
* Free parking at the Airport City carpark behind Smokvica
* Bus 67 from Zeleni Venac stops opposite Airport City
* Tram 9 (originating in Banjica) which also goes via Slavija and central train/bus station. Get off one stop after the Delta City stop, and walk 10 minutes along Omladinskih Brigada

Hi everyone,

We thought we'd kick off the BGFVC sightseeing trips for this season with the popular Gradac hike.

Gradac River in Western Serbia is well known for unpolluted streams and its beautiful gorge. The long gorge winds its way through rocky hills, creates crystal-clear pools and flows under old wooden bridges. This is an extremely picturesque part of Serbia, and this easy hike (approximately 11km) is the perfect way to see some of ‘real Serbia’ and escape the city.

Programme (approx. times)
08:00 Depart from the parking lot behind the Sava Centre (between Sava Centre and Vladimira Popovica), and travel to Valjevo by minivan.
10:00 After a quick coffee stop in Gradac township, we’ll drive a few kilometres out of town and then walk down into Gradac Gorge.
10:30 Short visit to the medieval monastery of Celije then hike alongside the river
13:00 Lunch stop (grilled trout, fish soup, salad) on the riverbank
14.30 River hike
19.00-20:00 Depart for Belgrade
20.30-21.30 Arrive Belgrade
Note: The programme may be altered slightly depending on the weather conditions on the day.

The 'river hike'
Before lunch we walk along the river and keep feet dry... but after lunch, when heading downriver, we walk along the river and cross it approximately 20 times. This gives access to the most beautiful parts of the gorge... but also means wet shoes and wet pants up to the knee!

Clothing required
It is recommended that everyone brings: socks, comfortable walking shoes or sneakers (just normal ones are fine – you don’t need specialist ones), a spare t-shirt, a warm long-sleeved jacket/long-sleeved t-shirt. For the “river option”, you will also need a spare pair of shoes/socks, and spare pair of pants.

Price
• Price per participant is 30 euros. (Minimum number of people is 15)
• Price includes: mini bus transport Belgrade-Gradac-Belgrade, trekking guides, lunch.
