Hi There,

I need a qualified, english speaking accountant to come out to my office to generate a business balance sheet, profit and loss document for my business operations, and a statement of income & expenses for the years of 2010, 2011 and 2012 to date.
I need this ASAP.

Hi guys, I currently live in Italy and I'm moving to Serbia in August. Today I have been thinking about my time in Italy and I decided to make a list of things that I have done in Italy or that I need to do before I leave. This included things such as eat pizza and gelato, see an opera in Verona, get lost in Venice, etc. It's been interesting reminiscing about the good times and it has helped me plan out my last few weeks here. I thought it would be fun to make a list for Serbia so that when I get there I have somewhere to start (instead of leaving it until my final 2 months of living there). So if you have any ideas please add to this thread.

My first few are:
1. Try the local cuisine and wines
2. Go skiing
3. Learn basic Serbian
4. Have a Serbian friend

Diplomatic/Tax free cars are great. A car dealership transaction is fine too. I'd just like to stay away from individual a non diplo sale to avoid the paperwork involved but if the price is right I can be tempted. Don't try to overprice me I am aware of mojauto.com and polovniautomobil.com going prices.
Send me a private message on the forum if you have a vehicle for sale.

<begins rant>

How can I file a complaint with the MUP?

Last month, I was jumping through hoops for them to go back and forth three days in a row bringing them additional paperwork they kept asking for (instead of just asking for it all in the first place) and twice, one officer asked for something which I then paid to have translated, only to be told it was actually not needed.

Ignoring that, I went back last friday on the day requested on my slip to hand in my passport for my new visa, I also requested a certificate for the new visa which I need to renew the registration for my car. Dropped the passport of at 1pm, and waited in the city center until 3pm, went back to collect it, was made to wait until 3:45 and then I was told its not done and to come back this week on Wednesday.

I told them that I needed the certificate and new visa by Monday, because that is when the registration on my car expires and without that, I cannot legally drive my car. The lady checked with her chief inspector or whomever and was told Monday would be fine.

Back I go today, dropped of my passport at 1pm and waited in the city again (as its a 30km round trip), went back at 3:15pm - was told to wait. Finally at 4:05pm, they called me up, gave me back my passport and the certificate. I checked the passport. No new Visa. I checked the certificate - they issued it, but on my OLD visa, which is useless for re-registering my car. I told them they made a mistake. I was made to wait for another 20 minutes whilst they all babbled amongst themselves, and I was then told that I need to come back on Friday.

I asked them, how can I get back here on Friday if I cannot drive my car? Will you pay for a taxi to bring me 15km each way? "oh, drive your car, it will be fine" is what I was told. The police just told me to break the law.

Anyway, I am not impressed. I wasted 3 hours on Friday, another 3 hours today, and likely another 3 hours this friday. Thats 9 hours of work time lost (270 euros) plus 90 kilometers of petrol. Should I just give them a bill for this amount or is there an official complaints process I can follow? I'm not impressed with the way they're screwing me around.

<end of rant>

Question Concerning Temporary Residence Visa

I know that several threads have been started about temporary residence visas, but I hope that it's ok to start a new thread. I feel a bit dumb to...

I know that several threads have been started about temporary residence visas, but I hope that it's ok to start a new thread. I feel a bit dumb to ask such a question, but I want to make sure that I've vetted everything before making such a big decision to move to Serbia.

If I do move to Serbia, I'm not for sure where I want to live in Serbia. I was thinking about starting out in a smaller city (100,000 people or so, i.e. Pančevo), especially one that has professional basketball and football teams. Belgrade might be too overwhelming for me to start a new life in Serbia.

However, I'll be in no rush to find a job right away, if I were to move to Serbia. Therefore, that puts me at odds with the temporary residence visa. From reading "Rough Guide To Law On Foreigners," it looks like the only way that I could possibly get that visa is to take a Serbian language course. Even though I have a BBA in Finance from Texas Tech University, I have no intention of pursuing a Master's degree while in Serbia. Therefore, if I take an elementary Serbian language class for foreigners, will that be enough to get the temporary residence visa, to go along with proving a resident street address, health insurance, and a certificate from a bank proving that I have the necessary funds to live in Serbia? My passport will not expire until 2019. Also, if I take one Serbian class during each time period of my visa, will that be enough to continue to get my visa renewed each time it expires?

Hvala.

Steven

Hi!

I'm Steven, and I live in Mansfield, TX. It's nice to see another Texan, FreeBalkans, on this site. I'm hoping to move to Serbia by the end of the year. Back in 2011, I was married briefly to a Serbian woman and fell in love with Belgrade the two times that I was there. I was overwhelmed by the warmth, the friendliness, the hospitality, etc. that I received while I was in Belgrade for those two separate trips. My ex-wife's mother made delicious sarma, moussaka, etc. while I was there. I love pljeskavica, and as much as I love hamburgers, I'll gladly trade a hamburger for pljeskavica. I've been studying Serbian for over a year now, but I simply know just some of the basics. The declinations have been a killer for me to learn. :0) Because of my wonderful experiences in Belgrade, I'd love to start a new adventure and a new chapter in my life by moving to Serbia.

Hello to you all :)

I found this forum while I was job-searching on the internet, and was really amazed to see how many foreigners live in Belgrade, I wasn't even aware of that.

I am a Serbian girl, who was raised in Denmark, but finished college in Serbia. Right now I am back in Denmark, working for a Danish company, but my big dream is to move back to Serbia, to live and work in - what I believe to be - the most amazing country with the most amazing capital in the world.

I am hoping that this post will be read from somebody, who knows somebody, who might need a profile like mine, for a job position in Serbia.

I have an University degree in Management (major in tourism), I graduated from the University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Science in october 2011. I have had part time jobs for the last 12 years in everything from sales, casino and hotel entertainment, and I am currently working at the distributors center at a Danish company where I work with support of our distruborts, outbound sales and administrative work.

I am extremly hard working, very well organized, positive and an opportunity seiser. I am fluent in Danish, English and of course Serbian, can communicate with other Scandinavians as well, know basic German and some Spanish (very little, but am always open to learnig more).

I would be happy to send my full resume to anyone interested. Feel free to contact me by message or mail.

Hope you are all having a wonderful time in my home country :)

I was contacted by the Holocaust Museum in Berlin (if you have ever been there, its unforgettable) .

They have a new project where they run a website on Holocaust memorials and sites of remembrance about World War II in Europe. You can see it here:

www.memorialmuseums.org/

They have asked me if they could use two of my picture of the Burning Menorah memorial at the Danube River in Belgrade, and of course I said they could.

They are looking for more pictures of this memorial and the other one on the Sava bank. They want to get different points of view of both memorials.

Does anyone have any of their own photos they might be prepared to allow the memorial to use?

If yes, please contact:

Hiya,

I am trying to figure out when my 90 days (out of 180 days) allowance started. I have been back and forth since 2007 so do I go all the way back to the first time I ever came into BEG, or is it 90 days out of 180 days but in one calendar year?

Or is there a number I can call or place I can visit to see what my allowance is for staying in the country?

Confuzzled....

Thanks for any help or pointers!

Hi! I've used this fellow's services for quite some time and he's well worth it.

Mr. Jovan Vukovic, a licensed masseur, offers a rejuvenating 60-minute all body relaxation massage which will leave you feeling invigorated, refreshed, and energized.

Jovan has eleven years of massage experience, and has been working with International School of Belgrade staff for six years.
For your comfort and convenience, Jovan will come to your home, and bring a special adjustable padded massage table, aromatherapy massage oils and music.

The three steps in the massage include tissue preparation, specificity, and energizing all accompanied by pleasant music. The amount of pressure being applied will be totally dependent upon your needs and tolerance. Areas of extreme tightness and strain are usually worked on for a longer duration. The final step includes the energizing of nerve fibers to return the body to an alert state. The entire process is usually performed in sixty minutes.

Cost of each 60-minute session at your home is only 1400 dinars or equivalent.

For more details or an appointment, call Jovan at 064/133-2451 or email him at jovanvuk@gmail.com

I have a 50" 720p plasma for sale, you can find the specs and photos of the device online, I'm providing photos of power-on time and the service menu main page which lists model and such.
Was bought in October 2010, is out of warranty (at time of purchase the 2yr warranty law wasn't in effect). Nothing at all wrong with the TV, works great and is great for watching TV channels, AWESOME for sports especially if you have a HD source (I have SBB D3 and the sports HD channels look amazing, as well as all channels).
I'm not a big sports fan though but I can tell it looks much better than on my 37" Samsung LCD. I'm selling the plasma because I want a big LED screen, I will sell my 37" LCD also at some point and pool the money for a 42-46" LED :)

price 400e (new in store price around 800e), payment in euro notes :P

As for transport I know for a fact that it can fit upright in the back seat of my car as this is how I brought it home, I am willing to transport it to your home in Belgrade and help you carry it upstairs or whatever :) I have no original packaging, I have the original manual, remote and cloth thing to wipe the screen.
