Jill Dando murder: Police investigate Serbian hitman theory

It would appear that the UK’s Metropolitan Police service is now formally investingating the conspiracy theory that the Serbian secret service killed Jill Dando in 1999.

I suspect is is more to do with the police having something to say as the 10th anniversary approaches rarther than a seriouse effort to solve the crime via what can be described as tenous evidence (at best).

telekom vi Privatization milestone looms for Telekom Srbija

The privatisation of Telekom Srbija is of massive importance to the economy of Serbia for two reason: Many investors are put off when the state has a Telekom monopoly and the sale could inject hundreds of millions of hard foreign currency into the state coffers.

According to reports in Vibilia Novosti on the 12th February 2009, the tender is due for September 2009.

Here is a recent interview with Branko Radujko, Director of Telekom Srbija, that was published in Vreme.

The recent birth of 13-year-old dad’s child (above)  sparked outrage recently in the UK.

The UK is a parvenu in the under-age parents stakes. Those Bosnian’s must take the prize:

A 12-year-old child from a village near the Bosnian town of Doboj will soon give birth to a child of her own.

Reports say that the girl, identified as Lj. S., lives with 24-year-old Dalibor Marinković from Karavlah, also near Doboj.

The case was reported to the police by the girl’s mother Mira Stanković, 30, who also has seven other children.

Police said they “conducted interviews” both with the girl and Marinković, “but could not talk them into ending their relationship”.

The 12-year-old and the man were quoted as saying that they live together with their parents’ blessing, that they are happy, and can live without outside help.

The girl’s mother decided to drop the charges after the pair fled into a nearby forest upon learning that the case had been reported to the police.

Police in Doboj said that Marinković did commit a crime when he entered a relationship with a minor, but that there was “no grounds for his arrest”. – B92 – News – Region – Bosnia: 12-year-old to give birth

If child-rape is allowable, one has to wonder just what you do have to do to be arrested in Doboj?

I am down with flu…

…but it appears I am not alone:

B92 – News – Society – Flu epidemic declared in Serbia

“An influenza epidemic has been declared in Serbia after the virus reached the same level present in the majority of European countries, writes daily Blic.

Almost half of sufferers are schoolchildren, while the segment of the population least affected are the over-65s, who received their vaccines in time.”

Vaccines in Belgrade? Who would have thought?
